PINPOINT TEST 1: MOTOR ELECTRONICS COOLING SYSTEM (MECS) PUMP FAULT - HYBRID

Normal Operation

The Motor Electronics Cooling System (MECS) pump is electrically driven and controlled by the PCM through the MECS pump relay. The PCM energizes the MECS pump relay by pulling the MECS pump output to ground when the ignition is in the ON position.

Possible Causes
- Power Distribution Box (PDB) fuse 14 (10A)
- MECS coolant pump
- Wiring
- MECS coolant pump relay

Diagnostic Procedure

NOTE:Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multi-meter probes.
