Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair

COOLING FAN MOTOR AND SHROUD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - HYBRID










1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See Lifting.

2. Remove the front bumper cover. See Service and Repair.

3. Remove the 2 front impact severity sensor. See Procedures.

4. Remove the 4 bolts and the 2 radiator brackets.

- To install, tighten to 10 Nm {1.0 kgf-m, 89 in-lbf}.

5. Remove the 2 bolts, the nut and position aside the hood latch.

- To install, tighten to 9 Nm {0.9 kgf-m, 80 in-lbf}.

NOTE:Mark the hood latch position prior to removal of the bolts.
6. Remove the center support lower bolt.

- To install, tighten to 10 Nm {1.0 kgf-m, 89 in-lbf}.

7. Remove the bolt and the center support.

- To install, tighten to 10 Nm {1.0 kgf-m, 89 in-lbf}.

8. Remove the 2 cooling fan bolts and the cooling fan motor and shroud.

- To install, tighten to 7 Nm {0.7 kgf-m, 62 in-lbf}.

9. Disconnect the cooling fan resistor electrical connector.

10. Disconnect the 2 cooling fan electrical connectors.

11. Remove the 6 cooling fan bolts.

- To install, tighten to 8 Nm {0.8 kgf-m, 71 in-lbf}.

12. Remove the LH and the RH cooling fans.

NOTE:Remove the LH cooling fan first and slide the RH cooling fan to the left side to remove.
13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
