PINPOINT TEST 8: DTC P0A1F - BATTERY ENERGY CONTROL MODULE HAS INTERNAL ERRORS - HYBRID
Normal Operation
With the ignition switch in the ON position and the engine on or off (the engine must have run at least once after the key was cycled to ON), the battery control module (BCM) monitors the current, voltage, temperature and leakage resistance of the 50 individual nickel metal hydride battery modules within the high-voltage traction battery (HVTB). The BCM also controls the contactors.
- DTC P0A1F (Battery Energy Control Module Has Internal Errors) - If there are internal errors of the HVTB caused by sensor failure, control module failure or other serious related faults internal to the HVTB causes the BCM to set this DTC.
Possible Causes
- Service disconnect plug
- HVTB
Diagnostic Procedure
WARNING:To prevent the risk of high-voltage shock, always follow precisely all warnings and service instructions, including instructions to depower the system. The high-voltage hybrid system utilizes approximately 300 volts DC, provided through high-voltage cables to its components and modules. The high-voltage cables and wiring are identified by orange harness tape or orange wire covering. All high-voltage components are marked with high-voltage warning labels with a high-voltage symbol. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury or death.
