DSC HU/CM Removal/Installation
DSC HU/CM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
CAUTION:
- When replacing the DSC HU/CM, the configuration procedure must be done before removing the DSC HU/CM. If the configuration is not completed before removing the DSC HU/CM, DSC will not work properly after installation of the DSC HU/CM.
- The internal parts of the DSC HU/CM could be damaged if dropped. Be careful not to drop the DSC HU/CM. Replace the DSC HU/CM if it is subjected to an impact.
1. Remove the following parts:
a. Windshield wiper arm and blade Service and Repair
b. Cowl grille Cowl Grille Removal/Installation
c. Windshield wiper motor Removal and Replacement
d. Cowl panel Cowl Panel Removal/Installation
2. Disconnect the brake pipes (master cylinder side). Service and Repair
3. For the vehicles with MZI-3.7, perform the following steps.
a. Remove the power steering reserve tank component. Removal and Replacement
b. Disconnect the OCV connector. Service and Repair
c. Disconnect the ignition coil connector. Service and Repair
d. Disconnect the HO2S (RH) connector. Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Removal/Installation
e. Disconnect the pressure switch connector. Removal and Replacement
f. Disconnect the wiring harness from the wiring harness bracket as shown in the figure.
g. Set the wiring harness out of the way.
4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
6. Add brake fluid, bleed the brakes, and inspect for leakage after the installation has been completed. Service and Repair
7. Configurate the DSC HU/CM (only when replacing it). Programming and Relearning
8. Clear the DTCs from the memory. ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS - Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
Connector Removal Note
1. Disconnect the connector in the order shown in the figure.
CAUTION:
- If sand or other particles get into the connector, it may be difficult to remove. In order not to damage the connector, be careful not to use excessive force removing the connector.
Brake Pipe Removal Note
1. Place an alignment mark on the brake pipe and DSC HU/CM.
2. Affix protective tape to the connector to prevent brake fluid from entering.
3. Remove the brake pipe.
4. Adhere protective tape to the installation area of the DSC HU/CM brake pipe to prevent foreign material penetration.
DSC HU/CM Removal Note
1. Move the DSC HU/CM component towards the inner side of the vehicle.
2. Loosen the bolt as shown in the figure.
3. Move the DSC HU/CM as shown in the figure.
4. Remove the DSC HU/CM from the DSC HU/CM Bracket.
DSC HU/CM Installation Note
1. Install the DSC HU/CM from the DSC HU/CM Bracket as shown in the figure.
2. Tighten the bolt as shown in the figure.
Tightening torque
- 4.3-6.5 Nm {44-66 kgf-cm, 39-57 in-lbf}
Brake Pipe Installation Note
1. Align the marks made before removal and install the brake pipe into the DSC HU/CM referring to the figure.
Connector Installation Note
1. Connect the connector in the order shown in the figure.
2. After connecting the connector, verify that the connector is completely locked.
