Trunk / Liftgate Hinge: Service and Repair

LIFTGATE HINGE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the following parts:
a. Liftgate Removal and Replacement

b. Rear scuff plate Rear Scuff Plate Removal/Installation

c. Rear seat back Rear Seat Back Removal/Installation

d. Rear seat cushion Rear Seat Cushion Removal/Installation

e. Lower anchor installation bolts on the rear seat belt. (See Rear Seat Belt Removal/Installation)

f. Trunk end trim Service and Repair

g. Trunk side trim

h. C-pillar trim C-Pillar Trim Removal/Installation

3. Peel back the seaming welt to the point indicated by the arrow in the figure.






4. Remove the fasteners on the rear part of the headliner and remove the nut while partially peeling back the headliner.
NOTE:
- Be careful not to leave a fold-seam.





5. Remove the liftgate hinge.

6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
