Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair





POWER BRAKE UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
- Once the brake switch clearance has automatically been adjusted, it cannot be adjusted again. Therefore, replace the switch with a new one when replacing the power brake unit or performing any procedure that changes the pedal stroke.

1. Remove the battery and battery tray. (MZI 3.7 V6) Removal and Replacement

2. Remove the windshield wiper arm and blade. Service and Repair

3. Remove the front fender molding. Cowl Grille Removal/Installation

4. Remove the cowl grille. Cowl Grille Removal/Installation

5. Remove the windshield wiper motor. Removal and Replacement

6. Remove the cowl panel. Cowl Panel Removal/Installation

7. Remove the master cylinder. Service and Repair

8. Remove the PCM and the PCM bracket. Service and Repair

9. Remove the purge solenoid valve and vacuum hoses as a unit. (MZI 3.7 V6) Service and Repair

10. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

11. Remove the brake switch. Service and Repair

12. Install in the reverse order of removal.

13. After installation, inspect the brake pedal. Testing and Inspection
