DP8 - Check VSS Circuit Short to Ground

- Key "OFF".

- Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) disconnected.

- Measure resistance between Test Pin 3 and Test Pin 40 at the breakout box.

- Is resistance greater than 3,000 ohms?

Yes -- Go to DP9. DP9 - Check Continuity of VSS Harness Circuit

No -- Service short to ground. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Repeat DP1 to verify elimination of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) or drive complaint. DP1 - Complete VSS Drive Cycle
