Battery Energy Control Module (BECM)













Removal and Installation

1. Retrieve the module configuration. Carry out the module configuration retrieval steps of the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) procedure. For additional information, refer to Module Configuration [1][2]Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

2. Remove the 4 pin-type retainers and the trunk front cover.





3. NOTE: If the center safety belt retractor locks and the safety belt webbing prevents the 60 percent backrest from lowering, raise the backrest upward to release the safety belt retractor and belt webbing.

Fold the LH backrest down.

- Between the High Voltage Traction Battery (HVTB) and the sheet metal, locate the seat backrest latch release lever.

- Push the release lever toward the outboard side of the vehicle and fold the backrest down.





4. Release the locking levers and disconnect the 2 electrical connectors at the Battery Energy Control Module (BECM).

5. Remove the 4 nuts and the BECM.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- When installing a new BECM, carry out the steps necessary to complete Programmable Module Installation (PMI). For additional information, refer to Module Configuration [1][2]Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
