Removing and Installing/Replacing Rear Muffler

18 12 030 - Removing and installing/replacing rear muffler (W10)





Warning!
Danger of burning and other injuries!
These tasks should only be carried out on an exhaust system that has cooled down!
Remove the exhaust system with the assistance of a second person.





Release screws (1) of middle pipe on manifold flange.

Installation Note:
Replace seal.
Tightening torque 18 00 2AZ [1][2]18 00 Exhaust Assembly.





Release screws (1).
Remove bracket from rear muffler.
Tightening torque 18 00 1AZ [1][2]18 00 Exhaust Assembly.





Release screws (1) on reinforcement plate.
Lower exhaust system carefully.
Remove the exhaust system with the assistance of a second person.
Tightening torque 18 00 3AZ [1][2]18 00 Exhaust Assembly.
Replacement only:
Replace all exhaust suspension elements Service and Repair.
