Headlight Automatic Levelling Motor Drive Test

ON-VEHICLE SERVICE

HEADLIGHT AUTOMATIC LEVELING MOTOR DRIVE TEST

Required Special Tools:
- MB991958: Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III Sub Assembly)
- MB991824: Vehicle Communication Interface (V.C.I.)
- MB991827: M.U.T.-III USB Cable
- MB991910: M.U.T.-III Main Harness A (Vehicles with CAN communication system)

CAUTION: The leveling motor drive test of headlight leveling unit must be performed with the vehicle at a standstill and the engine stopped. (When a vehicle speed signal is input from the headlight automatic leveling ECU, the leveling motor drive test cannot be performed)




1. Hook up the scan tool or ground terminal 1 of data link connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Turn ON the headlight switch.
4. Check that the headlight leveling operates downward for 3 seconds and then upward for 3 seconds.

NOTE:
- When the leveling of the headlight faces downward at the time of drive test start, it stays as is.
- Only one drive test is possible after the ignition switch is turned to the ON position.
