Drive Belt: Testing and Inspection




DRIVE BELT (FOR THE GENERATOR AND POWER STEERING OIL PUMP)

CHECK CONDITION

1. Remove the radiator condenser tank mounting bolts.

2. Move the radiator condenser tank to a place where it will not be a hindrance when checking the drive belt tension.

CAUTION:
Check the drive belt tension after turning the crankshaft clockwise one turn or more.

Make sure that the indicator mark on the auto-tensioner is within the area marked with A in the illustration.
4. If the mark is out of the area, replace the drive belt. [2.0L ENGINE NON-TURBO], Crankshaft Pulley Removal Installation [2.4L ENGINE]).
NOTE:
The drive belt tension check is not necessary as the auto-tensioner is adopted.

5. Tighten the radiator condenser tank mounting bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 12± 2Nm (102± 22 in-lb)
