ASBESTOS WARNINGS: Dust and dirt on brake parts generated during the normal use and wear of vehicle brake systems can contain asbestos fibers. Extreme care should be exercised while servicing brake assemblies or components. Breathing excessive concentrations of asbestos fibers can cause serious bodily harm, such as asbestosis and cancer.

During routine service operations, the amount of asbestos dust from brake lining wear is at a low level due to a chemical breakdown during use, and a few precautions will minimize exposure. Do not sand or grind brake linings unless suitable local exhaust ventilation equipment is used to prevent excessive asbestos exposure.
1. Wear a suitable respirator approved for asbestos dust use during all repair procedures.
2. When cleaning brake dust from brake parts, use a vacuum cleaner with a highly efficient filter system. If a suitable vacuum cleaner is not available, use a water soaked rag. Do not use compressed air or dry brush to clean brake parts.
3. Keep work area clean, using same equipment as for cleaning brake parts.

BRAKE FLUID
Glycol based brake fluid (DOT 3, DOT 4) is a controlled waste and should be disposed of properly.
- Used brake fluid should not be drained into the sewer system or storm drains.
- Used brake fluid should be taken to the nearest waste disposal facility.
- Do not mix used brake fluid with other fluids. Generally, waste disposal facilities will not accept used motor oil or engine coolant when mixed with brake fluid.
- Used brake fluid should never be reused.

WARNING: Brake fluid contains polyglycol ethers and polyglycols. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. If brake fluid contacts eyes, flush eyes with running water for fifteen minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists. If taken internally, drink water and induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately.
