Symptom

The fire extinguisher is installed on the driver's side.

Causes and remedial action

Cause

The fire extinguisher is installed on the driver's side due to a production control error.

Remedial action

Move the fire extinguisher from the driver's side to the passenger's side.

Preliminary work

1. Remove seat padding on the driver's and passenger's side. -> 741055 Replacing padding for front seat - section on "Removing" 741055 Replacing padding for front seat
2. Remove seat-surface extension on the driver's and passenger's side. -> 740819 Removing and installing front seat-surface extension - section on "Removing" 740819 Removing and installing front seat-surface extension

Removing fire extinguisher on driver's side

1. Unscrew screws -1- on the underside of the seat frame and remove the fire extinguisher and holder -arrow-.

2. Remove reinforcements -1 and 2- from the seat frame -arrow-.

1. Position reinforcements -1 and 2- on the seat frame -arrow-.

Information

If you are re-using the screws, secure them with Loctite screw-locking lacquer.

2. Position the fire extinguisher on the seat frame from below -arrow- and secure with the screws -1-. => Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)+1 Nm (+0.5 ftlb.)
