WARNING
Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
-> Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
-> Wear personal protective gear.
-> Ensure that there is good ventilation.
-> If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
NOTICE
Aggressive fluids
- Risk of damage to components and surfaces
-> Do not spill fluids.
-> In the event of contact, wash the component or surface with water.
-> Replace components that are already damaged.
Overview
1. Remove transverse strut -1-.
Removing transverse strut
1.1. Unscrew fastening screws -2-.
1.2. Remove transverse strut -1-.
Information
Before starting to work on the PDCC system, always clean the underbody or at least clean the system components you will be working on. Ensure absolute cleanliness at all times. In other words:
- Clean the system components to be removed using a power washer, for example. Ensure that the high-pressure spray is at least 50 cm away from the component (risk of damage to electric lines, connectors and contacts).
- Before loosening the hydraulic connections, the areas around the connections must also be cleaned carefully (e.g. using a brush and/or a lint-free cloth).
- If you intend to use the component again, the openings must be sealed immediately with suitable stoppers.
- If you are using new components, the stoppers must only be removed immediately before fitting.
2. Unscrew fastening screws on valve block -3-.
Valve block mounting
3. Get a second mechanic to hold the valve block -4-.
4. Mark the installation position of the steel flexi-pipes -2- on the steel flexi-pipes themselves and on the valve block using a suitable paint marker -3-.
5. Unscrew cap screws on steel flexi-pipes -1-.

6. Remove oil pressure lines -3-.
Fastening clamp
6.1. Unscrew fastening screw -1-.
6.2. Remove fastening clamp -2- on steel pipes.
7. Pull oil pressure lines -3- out of the valve block and unclip them.
Information
- After removing the lines, they must be closed off immediately using a clean cap if you do not intend to install the new valve block straightaway.
- When doing this, make sure that no dirt gets into the system as this can result in system failure.
8. Remove valve block.
Installing front-axle valve block
1. The front-axle valve block is installed in reverse order to removal.
NOTICE
Incorrect line routing
- Risk of damage to lines and hoses
- Malfunction and fault memory entry on control unit
-> Avoid small bending radii when routing lines.
-> File down edges and burrs in the routing area or mask them with adhesive tape.
-> Maintain a sufficient distance from components exposed to high temperatures while driving.
2. When re-installing the steel flexi-pipes, observe the markings you applied earlier to prevent the pipes from becoming twisted.
3. Observe the specified torque values when tightening the fastening screws and cap screws: -> 4X00IN Tightening torques for levelling system [1][2]Specifications and -> 4X00IN00 Tightening torques for front axle
Subsequent work
Information
Check the position of the steel flexi-pipes again following installation. Make sure that:
- The lines are not installed twisted (markings!)
- The lines are not exposed to any mechanical strain from the outside while driving, i.e. they must not be over-strained or deformed.
- The lines are not rubbing against other moving components.
- The lines cannot become clamped.
