WM 440519 Removing and installing wheel
Technical values
General information
General information on wheel bolts
Information
A higher tightening torque for wheel bolts than the tightening torque for wheels specified in the Driver's Manual is used in After Sales Service.
This offsets the settling behaviour in wheel bolts following the combined installation of new parts (wheel hub, brake disc, disc wheel).
The higher tightening torque is generally always used in After Sales Service.
- Always observe the specified higher tightening torque of 180 Nm (133 ftlb.)!
1. Use suitable commercially available tools (wrench size 19 mm). Never use an impact bolter to tighten the wheel bolts.
2. Only original Panamera wheel bolts should be used.
3. The wheel bolt consists of two parts that are permanently joined together.
4. Wheel bolts must never be reworked.
5. Always replace damaged wheel bolts.
6. This damage includes mechanical damage to the thread, the spherical cap and damage resulting from seizure of the bolt head bearing surface and spherical cap ring! It must be possible to rotate the spherical cap ring on the bolt shank and to move it in axial direction.
7. The wheel bolts and security wheel bolts must never be greased.

Removing wheel
NOTICE
Removing/fitting wheels
- Risk of damage to (ceramic) brake discs
-> Use two assembly pins when removing and fitting the wheel.
-> Carefully guide the wheel towards the wheel hub, thereby preventing any heavy impact on the (ceramic) brake disc.
Information
- Use assembly aids (threaded pin for mounting wheel) in order to exclude any possibility of heavy contact of the wheel with the brake disc! The assembly aids (threaded pins for mounting wheel) should be obtained via the Porsche parts service (Part No. 999.571.074.30)!
- For vehicles with a Tyre Pressure Monitoring system (TPM), every new set of wheels or wheel change must be communicated to the control unit (even if the new wheels have the same specifications as the old ones). To do this, select ]]Tyre pressure, Settings, Tyre type and Tyre size[[ in the main menu on the instrument cluster and confirm your selection. The control unit then stores these values while the vehicle is driving (at more than 25 km/h (16 mph)). The current tyre pressure is not available during this time.
- The wheel mounting trolley can be used to make mounting easier, see Tools and Equipment.
1. Removing wheel
1.1. Unscrew two wheel bolts that are not next to each other.
1.2. Replace the removed wheel bolts with mounting aids (threaded pins for mounting wheels).

1.3. Unscrew the remaining wheel bolts.
1.4. Carefully take off the wheel.

1. In the event of heavy soiling, clean the wheel bolts and the concavities in the wheel with a lint-free cloth.

2. Installing wheel
2.1. Screw the assembly aids (threaded pins for mounting wheel) into two thread holes that are not next to each other.
2.2. Carefully push the wheel over the mounting aids (threaded pins for mounting wheels).

2.3. Screw the other wheel fastening bolts into the remaining threaded holes.
2.4. Replace the assembly aids (threaded bolts for mounting wheels) with wheel fastening bolts.
2.5. Fit and tighten the wheel fastening bolts evenly. Start at the top when tightening.
3. Tighten the wheel mounting bolts to => Torque: +180 Nm (+133 ftlb.).
