Preliminary work

1. Remove brake disc.

1. Loosen the adjustment device -B- with a screwdriver. => Adjustment device

WARNING

Preloaded or pressurised components

- Risk of injury (e.g. crushing or bruising) when removing and installing springs.

-> Do not reach into the danger area.
-> Relieve the tension on components before starting work.
-> Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.
-> Wear protective gloves and goggles.
-> Be very careful when working on the brake system.

2. Remove compression springs -C-. => Compression springs

3. Disengage both tension springs -D and E-. => Tension springs

4. Remove brake shoes with adjustment device -A and B-.
5. Secure actuator for parking brake using tie-wrap -arrow-.

Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Align the entire unit in the middle.

Observe correct tightening torques.
1. Remove tie-wrap at actuator for parking brake.
2. Insert brake shoes with adjustment device -A and B-.

3. Engage both tension springs -D and E-.
4. Install compression springs -C-.
4.1. Unplug the speed sensor connector and check, with the help of a torch (visual inspection), to see whether the compression spring -arrow- is engaged.

4.2. Insert the speed sensor connector again.
4.3. Illuminate the cut-out behind the brake disc with a torch and check (visual inspection) to see whether the compression spring -arrow- is engaged.

Subsequent work

1. Install brake disc.

2. Adjust parking-brake shoes.

3. Grind down parking-brake shoes.
