Brake Light Switch





FAULT DIAGNOSIS, BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH
Input From Brake Light Switch

Fault Symptom.
Basic charging pressure only.


DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

1. Checking The Brake Light Switch
Connect the Scan Tool.
Ignition switch in the ON position.
Select "READ ON/OFF".
Select "BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH".
Check the brake light switch by depressing and releasing the brake pedal.


If the Scan Tool reading is OK, refer to Before Replacing A Control Module.

If the Scan Tool reading is not OK, continue with point 2.

2. Checking The Brake Light
Check whether the brake light comes on when the brake pedal is depressed.

If the brake light works, the fault is located in the lead between pin 15 of the control module and crimped connection J32.

If the brake light does not work, check wiring.
