Diagnostic Chart (Part 3 Of 5):

This chart will isolate possible faults with Electronic Ignition (EI) Module power and ground, and crankshaft position sensor. When engine is cranking EI module receives pulses from crankshaft position sensor. The EI module converts this AC signal into a square wave that is output to PCM. The PCM uses this signal for many things including spark and fuel timing. The PCM will not enable fuel or spark until 7X signal is present.
