Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

CAUTION:
^ Do not allow smoking or the use of open flames in the area where work on the fuel system is taking place. Anytime the fuel system is being worked on, disconnect the negative battery cable, except for those tests where battery voltage is required.
^ Whenever fuel line fittings are loosened or removed, wrap a shop cloth around the fitting and have an approved container available to collect any fuel.




1. Relieve fuel system pressure. (Refer to "Relieving Fuel Pressure" procedure.) Service and Repair
2. Disconnect vacuum line.




3. Remove fuel pressure regulator clamp and bolt.
4. Remove fuel pressure regulator.

INSTALLATION




1. Oil O-rings on fuel pressure regulator.
2. Install fuel pressure regulator into fuel rail.
3. Install fuel pressure regulator clamp and retaining bolt. Tighten bolt until clip comes together.
4. Energize fuel system. Run vehicle and inspect for leaks.
