Power Steering Bleeding: Service and Repair



Power Steering System Bleeding

1. Bleed the electro-hydraulic supply unit by starting and stopping the engine three times.
Important: Leave a brief pause before each starting operation.



2. To bleed the hydraulic system, start the engine and turn the steering wheel from the left stop to the right stop three times, while the engine is running.



Inspection Procedure

1. Switch off engine and inspect the fluid level; if necessary top up to upper marking on oil dipstick.
2. Inspect the power steering for correct operation and possible noise factor, by starting the engine and turning the steering wheel from the left stop to the right stop several times.
3. Inspect all connection points for the power steering visually for leaks.
