Generator Battery Replacement

Removal Procedure

Note: If one battery requires replacement, the other batteries also are to be replaced.




1. Remove the generator battery temperature sensor wiring harness. Refer to Generator Battery Temperature Sensor Wiring Harness Replacement (Generator Battery Temperature Sensor Wiring Harness Replacement).
2. Remove the generator battery cable nuts (1-4) from the battery cable terminals.





Important: Note original routing of battery cables to ensure proper installation.


3. Remove the generator battery cables (1-4) from the batteries.




4. Remove the generator battery bolts.
5. Remove the generator battery (1).




6. If required, remove the generator battery temperature sensor from the battery.

Installation Procedure




1. If required, install the generator battery temperature sensor to the battery.




2. Install the generator battery (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the generator battery bolts. Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




4. Install the generator battery cables (1-4) to the batteries.




5. Install the generator battery cable nuts (1-4) to the battery cable terminals. Tighten the nuts to 8 Nm (71 lb in).
6. Install the generator battery temperature sensor wiring harness. Refer to Generator Battery Temperature Sensor Wiring Harness Replacement (Generator Battery Temperature Sensor Wiring Harness Replacement).
