Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Telescope the steering column to its most extended position.




2. Remove the steering column lower trim cover bolts (2) from the steering column lower trim cover (1).




3. Disengage the steering column upper trim cover from the steering column lower trim cover.
4. Remove the steering column upper trim cover (1) from the steering column.
5. Maneuver the steering column lower trim cover around the tilt lever to remove it.

Installation Procedure

1. Maneuver the steering column lower trim cover around the tilt lever and position it in place.




2. Position the steering column upper trim cover (1) to the steering column.
3. Engage the steering column upper trim cover to the steering column lower trim cover.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Install the steering column lower trim cover bolts (2) to the steering column lower trim cover (1) and tighten the bolts to 1.5 Nm (13 lb in).
