INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
2. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (W/ Tonneau Cover)
(a) Remove the tonneau cover.
3. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the deck board.
4. REMOVE BACK DOOR SCUFF PLATE
(a) Detach the 6 claws and 6 guides and remove the back door scuff plate.
5. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH
(a) Remove the 2 screws and deck floor box.
6. REMOVE JACK ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the jack.
7. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH
(a) Remove the 2 screws and deck floor box.
8. REMOVE FRONT DECK FLOOR BOX
(a) Remove the front deck floor box.
9. REMOVE BENCH TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY Removal
10. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH Removal
11. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH Removal
12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
(a) Detach the 12 claws and remove the front door scuff plate.
13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
(a) Detach the 12 claws and remove the front door scuff plate.
14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
(a) Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip.
15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
16. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH
(a) Detach the 2 clips and guide and remove the cowl side trim board.
17. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH
HINT
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
18. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
(a) Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and detach the 2 clips.
HINT
Allow the front pillar garnish to hang by the front pillar garnish clip.

(b) Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nose pliers and remove it from the front pillar garnish.
NOTICE:
* Front pillar garnish clips are reusable if they are not removed from the vehicle and have no damage.
* Replace the front pillar garnish clips with new ones if they are removed from the vehicle.
HINT
Tape the tips of needle-nose pliers before use.

(c) Detach the 3 guides and remove the front pillar garnish.
(d) Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.
(1) Completely cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.
NOTICE:
Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

19. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

20. REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Put protective tape around the cover.
(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the cover.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(c) Remove the bolt and clip.
(d) Detach the 10 claws and 7 clips and remove the front quarter trim panel.
21. REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
22. REMOVE UPPER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the front seat outer belt floor anchor.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts.
(c) Detach the clip.
(d) Pass the front seat outer belt floor anchor through the upper center pillar garnish and remove the upper center pillar garnish.
23. REMOVE UPPER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH

24. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY
HINT
Use the same procedure for all luggage hold belt strikers.
(a) Remove the bolt and luggage hold belt striker.
25. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the bolt and clip.
(b) Detach the 6 clips, 3 claws and guide.
(c) Disconnect the connector and remove the deck trim side panel.
26. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Remove the bolt and clip.
(b) Detach the 6 clips, 3 claws and guide and remove the deck trim side panel.
27. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH CAP LH
(a) Put protective tape around the inner roof side garnish cap.
(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the inner roof side garnish cap.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

* Do not insert your hand at the area labeled A in the illustration or apply force in that direction to detach the clips.
* When detaching the clips, insert your hand at the area labeled B or C in the illustration and apply force in the corresponding direction.

(a) Detach the 7 clips and remove the inner lower roof side garnish.

(a) Remove the 2 screws and visor.

35. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER
HINT
Use the same procedure for the other visor holder.
(a) Turn the visor holder approximately 45° and pull it out as shown in the illustration.
(b) Detach the 2 claws and remove the visor holder.
36. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY
HINT
Use the same procedure for the other assist grip.
(a) Using a clip remover, detach the 4 claws.
NOTICE:
Do not forcibly pry the assist grip plugs to prevent them from being deformed.
HINT
* Gently pry on the assist grip plugs as shown in the illustration to remove them.
* Tape the clip remover tip before use.

(b) Pull off the 2 assist grip plugs by hand.
(c) Detach the 2 clips and remove the assist grip.
(d) Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
37. REMOVE COAT HOOK

(a) Put protective tape around the cover.
(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the cover.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(a) Detach the 4 clamps from the front pillar LH.
(b) Disconnect the connector and detach the clamp.
(c) W/ Sliding Roof:
Disconnect the drive gear connector.
(d) Disconnect the connector and detach the 3 clamps from the front pillar RH.
(e) Disconnect the connector and detach the 4 clamps from the rear pillar RH.
(f) Remove the 4 clips.

(g) Remove the roof headlining from the back door as shown in the illustration.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the roof headlining when removing it.
