2AR-FE STARTING: STARTER: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

3. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP

(a) Remove the bolt and loosen the nut.





(b) Detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

(c) Detach the hook of the battery clamp from the front battery bracket, and then remove the battery clamp.

4. REMOVE BATTERY INSULATOR

5. REMOVE BATTERY

6. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

7. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and front battery carrier.





8. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the starter connector.





(b) Open the terminal cap, remove the nut and disconnect the starter wire.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts and starter.
