SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

2. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH CENTER LOWER PANEL Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal

6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL Removal

7. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) Removal

8. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) Removal

9. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) Removal

10. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) Removal

11. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY





CAUTION:
Confirm that the negative battery terminal is disconnected before performing the operation. Even an impact to only the airbag sensor will cause the airbag to deploy.

(a) Pull the lever down and detach the connector holder.

(b) Remove the 3 bolts and remove the airbag sensor.
