Wiper Switch: Testing and Inspection

WIPER / WASHER: WIPER SWITCH: INSPECTION; 2013 MY FR-S [03/2012 -]

1. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Check the windshield wiper switch assembly.









(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Front Wiper Switch





If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch.

(b) Check the front washer switch.

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch.

(c) Check the intermittent operation.









(1) Turn the ignition switch to on and turn the windshield wiper switch assembly to INT.

(2) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the voltage from the rear of the connectors while they are connected to the windshield wiper switch assembly.

Specified Condition:

Voltage changes as shown in the illustration below.









(d) Check the washer operation.









(1) Turn the ignition switch to on and turn off the windshield wiper switch assembly.

(2) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
Measure the voltage from the rear of the connectors while they are connected to the windshield wiper switch assembly.

Specified Condition:

Voltage changes as shown in the illustration below.









If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch assembly.
