DTC Confirmation Procedure

P0011 / P0014 / P0021 / P0024

WARNING:
- When performing a road test, select a place where there is no traffic or possibility of a traffic accident and be very careful during testing to avoid occurrence of an accident.
- Road test should be carried out by 2 persons, a driver and a tester, on a level road.


1. Clear DTC.
2. Start engine and warm up to normal operating temperature.
3. Accelerate vehicle speed 30 km/h (19 mile/h) to 80 km/h (50 mile/h) within 10 through 20 sec.
4. Release accelerator pedal, and keep vehicle coasting with engine braking applied (fuel cut condition) until vehicle speed at 30 km/h (19 mile/h).
5. Repeat Step 2) through 3) for 3 times.
6. Check whether EGR and/or VVT system readiness / mounting test has completed using scan tool.
If readiness / mounting test has been incomplete, check vehicle conditions (environmental) and repeat step 2) through 5).

NOTE:
- If DTC other than aimed DTC are previously detected in DTC confirmation procedure, be sure to troubleshoot DTC previously detected.
- Make sure that the following conditions are satisfied when using this procedure.
- -10.5 °C (13.1 °F) < ECT at engine starting < 60 °C (140 °F)
- Difference between IAT and ECT at engine starting < 15 °C (59 °F)
- BARO > 70 kPa (525 mmHg, 20.7 inHg, 0.7 bar) (Altitude: lower than 3,000 m (9,842 ft))

1. Run engine at idle speed for 1 min.
