WIPER / WASHER: FRONT WIPER MOTOR: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, install the wiper motor with the 2 screws.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
(b) Apply MP grease to the crank arm pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly.

(d) Install the wiper motor and link.

(e) Install the wiper motor cover with the clamp.
2. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the windshield wiper motor and link assembly with the 3 bolts and the pin as shown in the illustration.
Torque: 7.0 Nm (71 kgf-cm, 62 in-lbf)
(b) Connect the connector.
3. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Push the ventilator louver in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to attach the 17 claws and 2 clips and install the ventilator louver.
4. INSTALL HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL

(a) Attach the 12 clips and 4 clamps to install the hood to cowl top seal.

(b) Install the washer hose.
5. INSTALL FRONT FENDER MAIN SEAL LH

(a) Attach the 3 clips to install the fender main seal.
6. INSTALL FRONT FENDER MAIN SEAL RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

7. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL Installation

8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
9. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM LH

(a) Stop the wiper motor at the automatic stop position.
(b) Clean the wiper arm serration with a round file or equivalent.
(c) Clean the wiper pivot serration with a wire brush.

(d) Install the wiper arm and blade with the nut. Make sure that the wiper arm and blade comes to the position shown in the illustration.
Standard:

Torque: 25 Nm (255 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf)
HINT: Hold down the wiper arm hinge with your hand while tightening the nut.

10. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM RH

(a) Stop the wiper motor at the automatic stop position.
(b) Clean the wiper arm serration with a round file or equivalent.
(c) Clean the wiper pivot serration with a wire brush.

(d) Install the wiper arm and blade with the nut. Make sure that the wiper arm and blade comes to the position shown in the illustration.
Standard:

Torque: 25 Nm (255 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf)
HINT: Hold down the wiper arm hinge with your hand while tightening the nut.

(e) Operate the front wipers while spraying washer fluid on the windshield glass. Make sure that the front wipers function properly and there is no interference with the vehicle body.
