Driver Side Seat Belt Warning Light does not Operate

DESCRIPTION
When the ignition switch is ON, the combination meter assembly receives signals from the front seat inner belt assembly (driver side). When the seat belt is unfastened, the combination meter assembly flashes the driver seat belt warning light in the combination meter assembly. When the seat belt is fastened, the combination meter assembly stops flashing the front driver seat belt warning light.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (D SEAT BUCKLE SW)
(a) Connect a Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON and turn the tester ON.
(c) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body / Data List.
Body:






OK:
Front seat inner belt assembly (driver side) operates normally.
NG -- INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (DRIVER SIDE)
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY)




(a) Disconnect the E13 combination meter assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the L19 front seat inner belt assembly (driver side) connector.
(c) Measure the resistance.
Standard resistance:





(d) Reconnect the combination meter assembly connector.
(e) Reconnect the front seat inner belt assembly (driver side) connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
3. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (DRIVER SIDE)




(a) Disconnect the L19 front seat inner belt assembly (driver side) connector.
(b) Measure the resistance.
Standard resistance:





(c) Reconnect the front seat inner belt assembly (driver side) connector.
NG -- REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (DRIVER SIDE)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY)




(a) Disconnect the E6 main body ECU (driver side J/B) connector.
(b) Disconnect the L19 front seat inner belt assembly (driver side) connector.
(c) Measure the resistance.
Standard resistance:





(d) Reconnect the main body ECU (driver side J/B) connector.
(e) Reconnect the front seat inner belt assembly (driver side) connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)
