POWER STEERING: VANE PUMP (for 2UZ-FE): INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the 2 bolts and nut.
Torque: 28 Nm (286 kgf-cm, 21 ft-lbf)
2. CONNECT PRESSURE FEED TUBE





(a) Connect the pressure feed tube.
(b) Install a new gasket and the union bolt on the pressure feed tube.
Torque: 51 Nm (520 kgf-cm, 38 ft-lbf)





3. CONNECT POWER STEERING OIL PRESSURE SENSOR CONNECTOR





4. CONNECT RETURN HOSE
(a) Connect the return hose with the clip.
5. CONNECT VACUUM HOSES
(a) Connect the vacuum hoses with the clips.
6. CONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE
(a) Connect the No. 2 ventilation hose to the air cleaner.
7. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT Installation
8. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE
(a) Install the air cleaner with air cleaner hose with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)
(b) Install the clamp.
(c) Connect the hoses.
(d) Connect the MAF meter connector.
9. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
10. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER Replacement
11. ADD POWER STEERING FLUID
12. BLEED POWER STEERING FLUID Power Steering System (for 1GR-FE, 2UZ-FE)
13. INSPECT FOR POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK
14. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE: Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
