REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
- After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of memory and setting. As a result, after turning the ignition switch OFF, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER Replacement
3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair
4. REMOVE TIMING BELT
(a) For the timing belt, refer to the following procedures Removal.
5. REMOVE WATER INLET HOUSING





(a) Disconnect the water by-pass hose from the water inlet housing.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts holding the water inlet housing to the water pump.
(c) Disconnect the water inlet housing from the front water by-pass joint, and remove the water inlet and inlet housing assembly.
(d) Remove the O-ring from the water inlet housing.
6. REMOVE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 5 bolts, 2 stud bolts, nut, water pump and gasket.
(b) Remove the O-ring from the water by-pass pipe.
