1GR-FE FUEL: FUEL PUMP: INSPECTION

1. INSPECT FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY

(a) Check the resistance.









(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(2) If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump.

(b) Check the operation.









(1) Apply battery voltage between the terminals and check that the pump operates.

If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump and fuel pump ECU.

NOTICE:
* This inspection must be done quickly (within 10 seconds) to prevent the coil from burning out.
* Keep the pump as far away from the battery as possible.
* Always do the switching (voltage on/off) at the battery terminal.
* When the pump is locked and does not operate due to foreign matter being stuck, etc., replace the fuel pump ECU Removal together with the fuel pump, as the fuel pump ECU may be damaged electrically.
