DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU receives courtesy switch signals to control the illuminated entry system and light auto turn off system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

(c) Turn Techstream on.

(d) Select the following menu items: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(e) Read the display on Techstream.

Main Body:





OK:

Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

NG -- INSPECT COURTESY SWITCH

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

2. INSPECT COURTESY SWITCH

(a) Inspect the front door courtesy switches Front Door Courtesy Switch.

(b) Inspect the rear door courtesy switches Rear Door Courtesy Switch.

(c) Inspect the back door courtesy switch Back Door Courtesy Switch.

(d) Inspect the back window courtesy switch Back Window Lock.

OK:

Courtesy switches are normal.

NG -- REPLACE COURTESY SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - DOOR COURTESY SWITCH)

(a) Check the harness and connector between the main body ECU and front door courtesy switch LH.





(1) Disconnect the D8 main body ECU connector.

(2) Disconnect the O2 switch connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





(b) Check the harness and connector between the main body ECU and front door courtesy switch RH.





(1) Disconnect the D7 main body ECU connector.

(2) Disconnect the N2 switch connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





(c) Check the harness and connector between the instrument panel junction block and rear door courtesy switch LH.





(1) Disconnect the 1O instrument panel junction block connector.

(2) Disconnect the O8 switch connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





(d) Check the harness and connector between the main body ECU and rear door courtesy switch RH.





(1) Disconnect the D7 main body ECU connector.

(2) Disconnect the N7 switch connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





*1: w/ Power Back Door

*2: w/o Power Back Door

(e) Check the harness and connector between the main body ECU and back door lock assembly.





(1) Disconnect the D7 main body ECU connector.

(2) Disconnect the T4*1 or T3*2 back door lock assembly connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





*1: w/ Power Back Door

*2: w/o Power Back Door

(f) Check the harness and connector between the main body ECU and back window lock assembly (w/ Glass Hatch Opener).





(1) Disconnect the D8 main body ECU connector.

(2) Disconnect the T5 back window lock assembly connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)
