DESCRIPTION

The occupant detection ECU detects the state of the front seat inner belt assembly RH and road sensor when the front passenger seat is occupied with the ignition switch on (IG). If the front passenger seat belt is not fastened, the front seat belt warning light on the navigation receiver assembly*1 or hazard warning light*2 blinks. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTCs

(a) Check for DTCs.

C -- GO TO OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM Occupant Classification System

B -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM CAN Communication System
A -- Continue to next step.

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

(c) Read the DATA LIST according to the displays on the tester screen.

Combination Meter





OK:

Switch condition (ON or OFF) can be switched by "ACTIVE TEST"

NG -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (BATTERY POSITIVE AND BODY GROUND)

OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER Removal

3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (BATTERY POSITIVE AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the E19 connector.





(b) Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:





Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR, OR REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

(a) Disconnect the E1 connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





(c) Proceed to the next step based on the inspection result.

B -- REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY Removal

C -- REPLACE HAZARD WARNING SWITCH Removal
