Removal

INSTRUMENT PANEL: UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL: REMOVAL

1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT

HINT
All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet codes in the table below.





2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL PAD ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the steering wheel pad Removal.

4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Removal

5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips and 6 claws, and then remove the instrument cluster finish panel.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

6. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws.





(b) Pull the combination meter in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 2 clips.

(c) Disconnect the connector and remove the combination meter.

7. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CENTER

(a) Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 clips and 2 claws, and then remove the cluster finish panel.





(b) Disconnect the connector.

8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CENTER

(a) Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 clips and 2 claws, and then remove the cluster finish panel.





(b) Disconnect the connector.

9. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/o Navigation System) Removal

10. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/ Navigation System)

(a) w/ CD Player:

Remove the navigation receiver assembly with bracket Removal.

(b) w/ DVD Player:

Remove the navigation receiver assembly with bracket Removal.

11. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY CENTER

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 5 clips and remove the instrument panel register.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

12. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal

13. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH Removal

14. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Open the glove compartment door.





(b) Detach the claw from the glove compartment door stopper.

(c) While pushing in the sides of the glove compartment door in the direction indicated by the arrows in the illustration, open the door to release it from the 2 stoppers.

(d) Open the door as much as possible.





(e) Pull the glove compartment door toward the rear of the vehicle to detach the 2 hinges and remove the glove compartment door.

15. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts from the passenger airbag.





(b) Disconnect the passenger airbag connector.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 screws.





(d) Disconnect the connector and detach the clamp.

(e) Detach the 6 clips and 5 claws and remove the instrument panel.
