CRUISE CONTROL: DYNAMIC LASER CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM: U0235,U1102: Lost Communication with Cruise Control Front Distance Range Sensor
U1102 - Lost Communication with Radar Sensor
DESCRIPTION
The laser radar sensor and distance control ECU transmit the data for general vehicle control and diagnosis function along the communication line. The laser radar sensor transmits information about the vehicle in front to the distance control ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
* When the distance control ECU is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed Programming and Relearning.
* When the laser radar sensor is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the laser radar sensor beam axis must be performed Adjustments.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - LASER RADAR SENSOR)
(a) Disconnect the A43 distance control ECU connector and A26 laser radar sensor connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(c) Reconnect the distance control ECU connector and laser radar sensor connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT DISTANCE CONTROL ECU
(a) Disconnect the A43 distance control ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
(c) Reconnect the distance control ECU connector.
NG -- REPLACE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. REPLACE LASER RADAR SENSOR
(a) Temporarily replace the laser radar sensor with a new or normally functioning one Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
4. ADJUST LASER RADAR SENSOR
(a) Adjust laser radar sensor Adjustments.
HINT
It is necessary to make the ECM recognize specification information (whether the vehicle is equipped with the dynamic laser cruise control system or not). When this procedure has not been carried out, this DTC may be output.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
5. CLEAR DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Dynamic Laser Cruise Control System.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Reproduce the DTC detection conditions under which the DTC is stored.
HINT
If the DTC detection conditions are not correct, the system will not detect the trouble.
(b) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 45 km/h (28 mph) or more and turn the cruise control main switch ON. Push the -SET switch to activate the cruise control system.
(c) Check for DTCs Dynamic Laser Cruise Control System.
OK:
DTC is not output
NG -- REPLACE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU Removal
OK -- END (LASER RADAR SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE)
