SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Be sure to read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing it Service Precautions.

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

3. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH Removal

4. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH Removal

5. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE SWITCH BASE Removal

7. REMOVE CONSOLE CUP HOLDER BOX Removal

8. REMOVE UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE CONSOLE REAR END PANEL Removal

10. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET COVER INNER LH Removal

11. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET COVER INNER RH Removal

12. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY Removal

13. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY





(a) Disconnect the airbag sensor connectors.

(b) Remove the 3 bolts and airbag sensor.
