C1283 - L4 Position Switch
DESCRIPTION
A-TRAC is activated if wheel skid is detected while the transfer is in the L4 position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
When replacing the skid control ECU (master cylinder solenoid), perform zero point calibration Vehicle Stability Control System (for Hydraulic Brake Booster).
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (EXI TERMINAL VOLTAGE)
(a) Disconnect the S1 skid control ECU (master cylinder solenoid) connector.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
(d) Turn the ignition switch off.
(e) Reconnect the skid control ECU (master cylinder solenoid) connector.
NG -- INSPECT L4 DETECTION SWITCH (NO. 2 TRANSFER INDICATOR SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM TEST MODE INSPECTION (SIGNAL CHECK)
(a) Check if the test mode DTC (C1283) is detected.
Result
B -- REPAIR TRANSFER INDICATOR SWITCH CIRCUIT (L4 POSITION)
A -- Continue to next step.
3. RECONFIRM DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Vehicle Stability Control System (for Hydraulic Brake Booster).
(b) Check if the same DTCs are recorded.

A -- REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID Disassembly
4. INSPECT L4 DETECTION SWITCH (NO. 2 TRANSFER INDICATOR SWITCH)
(a) Remove the L4 detection switch (No. 2 transfer indicator switch).
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(c) Reinstall the L4 detection switch (No. 2 transfer indicator switch).
NG -- REPLACE NO. 2 TRANSFER INDICATOR SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - L4 DETECTION SWITCH (NO. 2 TRANSFER INDICATOR SWITCH)
(a) Disconnect the S1 skid control ECU (master cylinder solenoid) connector.
(b) Disconnect the T3 L4 detection switch (No. 2 transfer indicator switch) connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(d) Reconnect the T3 L4 detection switch (No. 2 transfer indicator switch) connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - ECM)
(a) Disconnect the E13 ECM connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(c) Reconnect the ECM connector.
(d) Reconnect the skid control ECU (master cylinder solenoid) connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID Disassembly
