Removal








1ZZ-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: THROTTLE BODY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (Testing and Inspection)

3. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER NO. 2





(a) Remove the 2 nuts and 2 clips, then remove the cylinder head cover No. 2.
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector [A].
(b) Disconnect the VSV connector [B].
(c) Remove the 2 wire harness clamps [C].





(d) Disconnect the fuel vapor feed hose No. 1 [D] from the VSV.
(e) Disconnect the fuel vapor feed hose No. 3 [E] from the VSV.





(f) Disconnect the ventilation hose No. 1 from the cylinder head cover.





(g) Loosen the hose clamp bolt and air cleaner hose No. 1.





(h) Remove the air cleaner cap together with the air cleaner hose.
5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY





(a) Disconnect the throttle control motor connector.





(b) Disconnect the water by-pass hose [B] from the throttle body.
(c) Disconnect the water by-pass hose No. 2 [C] from the throttle body.





(d) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts, then remove the throttle body.





(e) Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.
