MF1A TRANSFER / 4WD / AWD: TRANSFER ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE Removal for 2AZ-FE.
2. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR Removal
3. INSTALL ENGINE HANGERS Removal
4. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY Removal
5. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS Removal
6. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET Removal
7. REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SETTING BOLT Removal
8. REMOVE TRANSFER STIFFENER PLATE RH





(a) Remove the 4 bolts and transfer stiffener plate RH.
9. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY Removal
10. REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and 6 nuts.
(b) Using a plastic hammer, remove the transfer assembly from the transaxle assembly.
NOTICE:
- Remove the transfer assembly from the transaxle assembly without tilting it.
- During removal, do not hold the transfer assembly by the oil seals on either side of the assembly.
