U341E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SYSTEM: P2759: Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Electrical (Shift Solenoid Valve SLU)
P2759 - Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Electrical (Shift Solenoid Valve SLU)
DESCRIPTION
The amount of current flowing to the solenoid is controlled by the duty ratio* of the ECM output signal. The higher the duty ratio* becomes, the higher the lock-up hydraulic pressure becomes during the lock-up operation.
*: The duty ratio is the ratio of the current ON time (A) to the total of the current ON and OFF times (A + B).
Duty Ratio = A / (A + B) x 100 (%)
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
When an open or short in the shift solenoid valve SLU circuit is detected, the ECM interprets this as a fault. The ECM will turn on the MIL and stores the DTC.

PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (SLU)
(a) Disconnect the transmission wire connector from the transaxle.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance (Check for short):
NG -- INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM)
(a) Connect the transmission wire connector to the transaxle.
(b) Disconnect the ECM connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance (Check for short):
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE ECM (for 2ZR-FE) Removal
3. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU
(a) Remove the shift solenoid valve SLU.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
(c) Connect the positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the valve.
OK:
The solenoid makes an operating sound.
NG -- REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU Disassembly
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE Removal
