Removal

2AR-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: ECM: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

3. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY Removal

4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (for PZEV) Removal

5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (except PZEV) Removal

6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT

7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER BRACKET

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner bracket.





9. DISCONNECT ECM CONNECTOR

(a) Separate the 2 wire harness clamps.





(b) Raise the levers while pushing the locks on the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.





NOTICE:
After disconnecting the connector, make sure that dirt, water and other foreign matter does not contact the connecting part of the connector.

10. REMOVE ECM

(a) Remove the 3 bolts of the ECM with bracket.





(b) Remove the ECM with bracket.

(c) Remove the 4 screws and ECM bracket.
