The main body ECU detects the condition of the door courtesy switches.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(e) Read the display on the Techstream.

OK:

Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

NG -- INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Interior Lighting System

2. INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH

(a) Inspect the front door courtesy switch Front Door Courtesy Switch, rear door courtesy switch Rear Door Courtesy Switch, and back door courtesy switch Testing and Inspection.

OK:

Door courtesy switches are normal.

NG -- REPLACE DOOR COURTESY SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK - SWITCH)





(a) Disconnect the E63 main body ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2A and 2E instrument panel junction block connectors.

(c) Disconnect the P1 door lock assembly connector.

(d) Disconnect each door courtesy switch connector.

(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Driver Side
Front Passenger Side
Rear LH Side
Rear RH Side
Back Door






















NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)
