Rear Wiper Motor
WIPER / WASHER: REAR WIPER MOTOR: INSPECTION
1. INSPECT REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Check the wiper operation.
(1) Connect a battery positive (+) lead to terminal 4 (+B), and a negative (-) lead to terminals 3 (LS) and 5 (E), and check that the motor operates.
OK:
Motor operates.
If the result is not as specified, replace the motor assembly.
(b) Check the INT operation.
(1) Connect a battery positive (+) lead to terminal 4 (+B), and a negative (-) lead to terminals 2 (C1) and 5 (E), and check that the motor operates.
OK:
Motor operates.
If the result is not as specified, replace the motor assembly.
(c) Check the rear washer linked operation.
(1) Connect a battery positive (+) lead to terminal 4 (+B), and a negative (-) lead to terminals 1 (W) and 5 (E), and check that the motor operates.
OK:
Motor operates.
If the result is not as specified, replace the motor assembly.
(d) Check the automatic stop operation.
(1) Put the matchmark on the windshield wiper motor assembly.
(2) Connect a battery positive (+) lead to terminal 4 (+B), and a negative (-) lead to terminals 3 (LS) and 5 (E). With the motor operating, disconnect terminal 3 (LS) to stop the wiper motor operation at any position other than the matchmark.
(3) Check that the motor stops automatically at the matchmark.
OK:
Motor stops automatically at the matchmark.
If the result is not as specified, replace the motor assembly.
