C1516 - Torque Sensor Zero Point Adjustment Incomplete

DESCRIPTION

This DTC does not indicate a malfunction. The power steering ECU assembly stores this DTC when it determines that torque sensor zero point calibration has not completed.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* If the power steering ECU assembly has been replaced with a new one, perform assist map writing and torque sensor zero point calibration 2AR-FE without Wireless Door Lock.
* If the electric power steering column sub-assembly has been replaced with a new one, perform torque sensor zero point calibration after performing the initialization of the torque sensor zero point value 2AR-FE without Wireless Door Lock.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs (step 1) 2AR-FE without Wireless Door Lock.

(b) Calibrate the torque sensor zero point (step 2) 2AR-FE without Wireless Door Lock.

(c) Check for DTCs (step 3) 2AR-FE without Wireless Door Lock.

HINT
If DTCs are output, perform steps 1 to 3 two more times.

2. REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY

(a) Replace the power steering ECU assembly Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Calibrate the torque sensor zero point (step 1) 2AR-FE without Wireless Door Lock.

(b) Check for DTCs (step 2) 2AR-FE without Wireless Door Lock.

HINT
If DTCs are output, perform steps 1 and 2 two more times.
