DRIVE SHAFT / PROPELLER SHAFT: FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEELS

2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH

3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

4. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH

5. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH

7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH

8. DRAIN HYBRID TRANSAXLE FLUID Adjustments

9. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT

(a) Using SST and a hammer, release the staked part of the front axle shaft nut.





SST : 09930-00010

NOTICE:
Loosen the staked part of the nut completely, otherwise the threads of the drive shaft may be damaged.

(b) While applying the brakes, remove the front axle shaft nut.

10. SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY Removal

11. SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR Removal

12. SEPARATE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY Removal

13. SEPARATE FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

14. SEPARATE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Using SST, remove the front drive shaft assembly LH.

SST : 09520-01010

NOTICE:
* Do not damage the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly type T oil seal.
* Do not damage the front axle inboard joint boot.
* Do not drop the front drive shaft assembly LH.

16. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Separate the bearing bracket hole snap ring from the drive shaft bearing bracket.





(b) Remove the bolt and front drive shaft assembly RH from the drive shaft bearing bracket.

NOTICE:
* Do not damage the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly type T oil seal.
* Do not damage the front axle inboard joint boot.
* Do not drop the front drive shaft assembly RH.

(c) Remove the bearing bracket hole snap ring from the front drive shaft assembly RH.

17. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT HOLE SNAP RING LH

(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the front drive shaft hole snap ring LH.
