2AZ-FE FUEL: FUEL PUMP: INSPECTION
1. INSPECT FUEL PUMP
(a) Check the resistance.
(1) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
Standard Resistance:
If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump.
(b) Check the operation.
(1) Apply battery voltage to both terminals. Check that the pump operates.
NOTICE:
* These tests must be done quickly (for less than 10 seconds) to prevent the coil from burning out.
* Keep the fuel pump as far away from the battery as possible.
* Always do the switching at the battery side.
If the pump does not operate, replace the fuel pump.
