DESCRIPTION

The vehicle approaching speaker controller detects engine operation by monitoring the signal from the engine oil pressure switch assembly. Vehicle approaching speaker operation is disabled when the vehicle approaching speaker controller receives a signal from the engine oil pressure switch assembly indicating that the engine is operating.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body / Combination Meter / Data List.

(e) Read the display on the Techstream.

Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

NG -- GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY - VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER)

(a) Disconnect the D26 engine oil pressure switch assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the L130 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
