DESCRIPTION

The vehicle approaching speaker controller causes the vehicle approaching speaker assembly to operate (produce a sound) when the vehicle is being driven using EV drive mode. When the vehicle is being driven in EV drive mode, the vehicle approaching speaker controller changes the tone of the sound in accordance with vehicle speed.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER (OUTPUT WAVEFORM)

(a) Check the output waveform.





(1) Disconnect the A66 vehicle approaching speaker assembly connector.

(2) Connect an oscilloscope to terminal A66-1 (-) and A66-2 (+).

(3) Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below.





OK:

The waveform is displayed as shown in the illustration.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER ASSEMBLY - VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER)

(a) Disconnect the L130 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.

(b) Disconnect the A66 vehicle approaching speaker assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
