Climatronic Control Module -J255- Coding (Function 07)

If the appropriate code is not displayed, or if the control module has been replaced, the control module must be coded as follows:

- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST), input address word 08 "AC/Heating electronics" and press -> until "Select function XX" appears in display

- Press buttons -0- and -7- to select the "Coding control module" function 07.

- Press -Q- button to confirm input.
- Using VAG 1551 keypad, enter code number and confirm with Q button.

00001 with dust and pollen filter

Indicated on display after entering code.

NOTES:
- The ignition must be switched off in order for the desired coding to be loaded into the control module. Always "End Output" (function 06) after coding control module and switch ignition off before proceeding with any additional VAG 1551 tests.
- If an unauthorized code number is entered, coding 00000 (for vehicles without dust and pollen filter) is automatically entered by default.
- if no code number is entered after control module replacement, coding 00000 (for vehicles without dust and pollen filter) is automatically entered by default.
- All vehicles for the USA and Canada are equipped with the dust and pollen filter. Always ensure that coding 00001 is entered.
- Improper coding results in incorrect blower output.
